Kings U15 Achieve Victory in 2023 BJ Cup U14 Presented by ECC

Thank you very much for your continued support of the youth team.
The Kings U15 competed for the first time in the “2023 BJ Cup U14 Presented by ECC” held in Shizuoka Prefecture from December 26th (Tuesday) to 28th (Thursday), but the entire team fought through the tournament. We successfully achieved our first victory.

In particular, in our match against a strong B youth club, we were able to play with high concentration throughout the match. We found a rhythm with our defense from the beginning, and were able to win without completely giving up the flow to our opponent, making it a match that will lead us to the future.

In addition, this tournament consisted of first- and second-year junior high school members of the Kings U15, and in terms of individual awards, #54 Keiji Koshi was crowned MVP of the tournament. #54 Keiji Koshi and #29 Shunsuke Miyazato were selected for the top five, and #16 Hideya Nakamoto was selected for the individual award.

Thank you very much for your support for Kings U15.

The Kings U15 will be participating in the 2023 4th National U15 Basketball Championship (Keio Jr. We will participate in the Winter Cup 2023-24).

Thank you for your continued support for Kings U15.

After the tournament, we will deliver comments from Tomoya Kings U15 assistant coach Suehiro and #54 Keiji Koshi, as well as the match results.

▽Comments from Tomoya Kings U15 Assistant Coach

I am happy that I was able to win this tournament even though it was my first time participating. The players encouraged each other during the slow periods and continued the match with more energy than their opponents.

We would like to continue supporting the growth of our players by focusing on improving their individual skills and increasing their game IQ.

▽#54 Keiji Koshi comment

This was my first time participating in this tournament as a 1st and 2nd year student, so I was a little nervous and anxious, but I am very happy that I won.

I think the reason for our victory was that we were able to play solid defense in the beginning. Personally, I’m happy to win MVP, but it was all thanks to the support of everyone on the team. I will not be satisfied with this result and will continue to work hard in my daily practice to improve my level even further. We will then make adjustments for the Junior Winter Cup in January next year and aim to win.
