Kareem Jackson: Struggling to Adapt to the NFL’s Changing Game

Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson – suspended a total of six games this season for dangerous tackles – believes the NFL has offered him no answers on how to adapt his rugged style of play to today’s game ‘today.

According to the 14-year veteran, who feels he is being sidelined by the NFL, the league is condemning the games it once celebrated.

Two weeks ago, Jackson met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell over a second suspension for excessive roughness. The meeting did not go as he wanted.

“I was told that I was responsible for protecting the offensive player,” Jackson explained at a charity event on Monday. I’m not sure how I can protect myself, make plays and protect offensive players at the same time, but that’s what I’ve been told. I’m not sure how I’m going to continue playing in the future. I hope I find a way. »

“At the end of the day, I’m going to continue playing like I’ve been playing since 2010,” concluded the veteran defensive back. I think I’m going to try to lower my contact zone even more than I already did, but in terms of protecting the other player, it’s impossible. No idea how I’m supposed to do that. »
