Juan Reynoso’s Daughter Shares Disappointment Over Treatment by Peruvian National Team

This Wednesday, December 13, the Peruvian National Team officially announced the departure of Juan Reynoso. Thus, the national strategist put an end to his stay in Videna, leaving discreet numbers (he barely added two points in the 2026 South American Qualifiers). In the midst of this panorama, Marcia Reynoso, one of the DT’s daughters, used her social networks to launch a message where she confessed her disappointment over the treatment that the ‘Chess Player’ received wearing the ‘Bicolor’ jumper. .

“Dear Peru, thank God we are leaving. I hope to see you again when we are “welcome” again. As always and from afar I will admire your wealth but I will not miss the quality of your people. I thought that this time I would get the phrase out of my head: The worst enemy of a Peruvian is another Peruvian… But that is not the case,” began the message that the coach’s daughter published on her official Instagram account.

“You hurt me, Peru, because for your people it is valid to threaten death in order to get what they want. […] You hurt me because I would like all the hate my father received to be channeled into energy to improve as a country. It hurts me more to know that the Peruvian can no longer recognize himself as a brother,” he added.

It is necessary to mention that Juan Reynoso always showed the great relationship they had with his daughters. For this reason, Marcia referred to the messages that her father received from several national football fans and personalities, ensuring that in our country they prefer to bet on a foreign professional instead of a national one. “Your colonialist history continues in each of the inhabitants who prefer the foreigner because ‘it is better,’” she said.

Reynoso goes up, Fossati comes in

After learning of the interest of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), Jorge Fossati was asked by the media in his country if he would take the position of coach of the Peruvian National Team, even more so after obtaining the national title with Universitario de Deportes in League 1 Betsson and be in the plans of the merengue team for the year of its centenary.

“A couple of days ago they told me that the Federation was going to contact me and well. I spoke openly thinking that the issue of the coach (Juan Reynoso) was resolved, but yesterday (Saturday) I found out that on Monday they would sign the termination,” he revealed on the Teledoce program. An important point is that the ‘Charrúa’ coach still has a contract with Universitario de Deportes until the end of next year.

What challenges await the new coach of Peru?

Regarding June, as it is a double FIFA date prior to the Copa América, the FPF will have a few more months to close with the rivals, define the venues and manage all the logistics for the comfort of the national delegation. There could be the possibility, as happened in previous editions of this continental competition, that the ‘Blanquirroja’ plays one of those matches in our country as a farewell before leaving for the United States.

Regarding the Copa América matches, the fixture – for now – is as follows: face Chile on June 21, Concacaf 5 (Canada or Trinidad and Tobago) on June 25 and Argentina on June 29. Finally, in September 2024 the Qualifiers return towards the 2026 World Cup. The first rival will be Colombia in Lima, then the Peruvian National Team will visit Ecuador. In October and November we will face Uruguay (L), Brazil (V), Chile (L) and Argentina (V).
