Jordi Amat was officially naturalized as an Indonesian citizen (WNI) on Thursday, November 17 2022, and is now one of the backbones of the Indonesian National Team.
Initially, the Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong proposed Jordi Amat’s name to be naturalized in 2021. PSSI is also trying to process his naturalization documents in 2022.
Former member of the PSSI Executive Committee (Exco), Hasani Abdulgani was appointed to take care of Jordi’s naturalization. In April 2022, it was finally officially submitted to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham).
After going through a fairly long process, Jordi was finally approved by Commissions II and X of the DPR RI to be naturalized. Furthermore, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) issued a Presidential Decree (Keppres).
