Italy Dominates 2023 European Field Shooting Championships in Turin

Torino – A highly challenging week just ended in Sansicario Alto (TO) on the occasion of the 2023 European Field Shooting Championships.

Piedmont is a doubly protagonist: both in terms of organizing the continental event and in contributing to the numerous successes and podiums for the Italians.

In fact, Italy once again confirms itself as the absolute protagonist of the campaign specialty, winning 19 medals (9 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze), ahead of Great Britain (9 medals) and France (5 medals).

The complete Italian team also counted on the arrows of the Piedmontese Marco Morello, Aiko Rolando, Marco Bruno, Giuseppe Seimandi, Francesca and Fabrizio Aloisi, with the support of the coach Giorgio Botto and the coach Antonio Tosco.

Marco Bruno (Fiamme Azzurre/Arcieri Iuvenilia) – European title in the men’s Compound for Marco Bruno who beat the Croatian Buden in the final (70-65), confirming the first position of the qualification. Continental title also for teams, together with Massimiliano Mandia and Giuseppe Seimandi, against Sweden beaten 57-56 in the final. In the mixed team, paired with Sara Ret, the duo stops at the foot of the podium at the hands of Germany.

Irene Franchini (Fiamme Azzurre/Arcieri delle Alpi) – Silver medal in the women’s Compound (58-63). Silver also in teams, together with Cinzia Noziglia and Aiko Rolando, in this case at the hands of France (51-52).

Fabrizio Aloisi (Arcieri Iuvenilia) – Bronze medal in the Men’s Under21 Compound. The Turin native prevailed in the final 66-58 over the Frenchman Salard. European title in the mixed team, together with Martina Del Duca, thanks to the clear victory in the final over Romania (82-69). Title also for Under21 teams, with Matteo Borsani and Matteo Seghetta, the trio wins 58-51 over the Czech Republic.

Giuseppe Seimandi (Fiamme Azzure/Arcieri delle Alpi) – Hat-trick for the Turin native: the individual European title in men’s bare bow arrived at the end of the derby against Eric Esposito (won 54-50); team gold and also in the mixed team, paired with Cinzia Noziglia (66-57 over Spain).

Aiko Rolando (Fiamme Oro/Arcieri Iuvenilia) – Continental team title for the blue trio composed of Rolando, Noziglia and Ret. Silver instead in the mixed team, paired with Massimiliano Mandia, losing in the final against Germany (73-76).

Once the European Campaign has been archived, we immediately move on to the European 3D Shooting Championship which will take place from 25th to 30th September in the splendid locations of Sansicario.
