The Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard will defend his title in O Gran Camiño, a Galician stage event that will be held in February 2024 and that will serve the current Tour de France champion as the starting point of his season.
“Jonas Vingegaard will return to Galicia next February to participate in a new edition of O Gran Camiño. The winner of the Tour de France has chosen the Galician race to debut in the 2024 season, just as he did in 2023 in which he declared the winner of the same,” the organization announced.
The Dane has included O Gran Camiño in his calendar for 2024, and O Gran Camiño is, for the moment, the only race outside the top UCI WorldTour category in which he will participate.
After facing the Galician race, Jonas Vingegaard will race the Tirreno Adriatico, Itzulia, the Critérium du Dauphiné, Tour de France, Vuelta a España and the World Championship.
In the 2023 edition, Jonas Vingegaard was the great dominator of O Gran Camiño, taking both the general classification and the three partial victories, such as in the final time trial through the streets of Santiago de Compostela.
