Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets) y Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics) are the players of the month for October/November, the NBA reported this Monday in a statement. Since the league begins each year in the second half of October, the NBA presents a joint player of the month award for October/November.

Thus, Jokic was the chosen one in the West with 29 points, 13.2 rebounds and 9.2 assists on average per game in that stretch for the Nuggets who are now third in their conference with a balance of 14-7.

For his part, the East award went to a fundamental Tatum for the Celtics, who are first in that conference with the best record in the league (15-4). Tatum averaged 27.7 points, 8.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.

Additionally, Chris Finch (Minnesota Timberwolves) and Jamahl Mosley (Orlando Magic) were recognized as coaches of the month in the West and East, respectively.

On the other hand, the Mexican-American Jaime Jáquez Jr., of the Miami Heat, was chosen rookie of the month October/November in the Eastern Conference. Jáquez won this award after achieving averages of 12 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in that stretch of the campaign. The versatile Latin player has fit in wonderfully for the Heat who, with Jimmy Butler as their leader, lost the NBA Finals last season against the Denver Nuggets and are now seventh in the East with a record of 11-9.

In the West, the chosen one was Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City Thunder), who won this award, beating the most talked about rookie this season, the French prodigy Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs).
