“It’s a strong commitment,” announces Jean-Michel Aulas, elected vice-president of the FFF

There wasn’t a lot of suspense. During the general assembly of the FFF, scheduled for this Saturday, Jean-Michel Aulas was elected vice-president with 78.58% of the votes until 2024, the date of the next elections, and thus succeeds Philippe Diallo, who heads the body since the resignation of Noël Le Graët last February. The former emblematic president of Olympique Lyonnais delivered a speech just before being appointed.

“It is a great pleasure to be with you here this morning. I wanted to tell you that this is a strong commitment for me after 37 years of good and loyal service in the professional world, he began. I was constantly in contact with the amateur world. I know how difficult it is to be a club president and manager in amateur football. This is why it was important to respond favorably to this proposal.”

The new vice-president of the FFF notably focused his speech on the growth of women’s football, in which he participated as leader of OL, winning no less than 16 French championships and 8 Champions Leagues: ” I will make sure to work hard to ensure that women’s football lives up to the great ambitions of the FFF. We started working on a 5-year plan to reach 500,000 licensees. We have also initiated a significant restructuring of women’s football. The French team too. Thanks to Hervé (Renard) for agreeing to take the lead. What has been done is already a performance. Philippe (Diallo)’s commitment was to give resources to the women’s teams, and to ensure that they can claim to be among the very first teams in the world. »

“I’m going to say a word for Christmas”

In his speech, Jean-Michel Aulas paid tribute to Nöel Le Graët, who resigned from his post as president of the FFF last February after 12 years of reign, following accusations of moral and sexual harassment: “And therefore the FFF, who I know well, I want to say a word for Christmas who brought me here in the first configuration of the COMEX. We will make sure to look you in the eye and hear you. We know the difficulty of the task of being representatives of amateur football. I know your task is difficult. »
