The Ibizan Marc Cardona achieved a double this weekend in Gijón in the Spanish U-23 Badminton Championship, after being crowned champion in the individual tournament and in the men’s doubles together with the Galician Rodrigo Sanjurjo. In addition, Paula Llavero won two bronzes in the women’s doubles and in the mixed doubles at the state event.
Sofía and María García also climbed to the third place on the podium with their bronze medals in the Spanish Under-15 Championship in Granollers. These medals had a bittersweet taste since the Ibizan couple could not reach the final after a sprained ankle suffered by Sofía.
Finally, at the International Junior in Portugal, Carmen Jiménez from Ibiza achieved third place in the mixed doubles together with Adolfo López from Oviedo.
