This year, French mathematics professor Julien Guyon once again determined the probabilities of the draw. The result: Munich’s most likely opponent is Paris, although at 17.3% the probability is only slightly higher than that of the other possible opponents (16.54%).

Dortmund’s most likely opponent is Bayern’s group opponents FC Copenhagen, RB Leipzig has an 80% chance of facing a Spanish team.

Excluded from the draw are duels between teams that already faced each other in the preliminary round – as well as games between two teams from the same league. The group winner has home advantage in the second leg.

The first legs of the round of 16 will take place on the 13th/14th. February and on 20/21. February. The second leg will take place on the 5th/6th. March and on 12/13. March.
