Hawks Suffer Third Straight Defeat in NBA

Atlanta suffered its third straight defeat in the NBA on Friday, the 12th overall in 21 games played this season. Clint Capela’s Hawks lost 125-114 on the Philadelphia floor.

Deprived of their leader Trae Young (ill), the Hawks crashed in the ‘money time’ while they still had a 3-point lead (109-106) 5’03” from the ‘buzzer’ after Clint Capela had made his two free throws. They then conceded a 15-0 partial.

Joel Embiid was man of the match. The Sixers pivot managed 38 points, 14 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 assists, also proving decisive at the very end of the match after injuring his leg with less than five minutes remaining in this game.

Clint Capela accumulated 15 points and 16 rebounds (including 10 captured in the offensive phase). Aligned for 30′, the Genevan interior of the Hawks however suffered against Embiid: he finished this match with a differential of -10, compared to +16 for the Cameroonian.

The Spurs also conceded their 16th consecutive defeat on Friday, equaling the sad franchise record established last season. San Antonio was beaten 121-112 by the Bulls in Texas, despite a monstrous Victor Wembanyama (21 points, 20 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 blocks).
