Former defender Juventus and Italian national team, Giorgio Chiellini, decided to retire from football. Chiellini hung up his boots at the age of 39.
Chiellini announced his decision via his Instagram social media account. He uploaded a video containing the best moments throughout his career.
“You have been the most beautiful and intense journey of my life,” Chiellini wrote on his social media account.
“We have become everything to me. With you, I walked a unique and unforgettable path.”
“But now it’s time to start a new chapter, face new challenges, and write important and exciting pages in life.”
Chiellini started his professional career at Livorno in 2000. His career then took off after he joined Juventus in 2005.
With the Bianconeri, Giorgio Chiellini achieved great success, including winning nine scudettos. Los Angeles FC is the last club that Chiellini has defended for the last 1.5 years.
