Gibran Rakabuming Raka Takes a Break from Campaigning with Badminton Game

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Vice presidential candidate (cawapres) number 2, Gibran Rakabuming Raka fills his free time by playing badminton with a number of athletes at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Arena Jakarta, Monday (4/12/2023). Gibran admitted that he deliberately took time to exercise during his busy campaign for the 2024 presidential election.

“Yes, we have been going to the field for several days, doing field trips, meeting residents, discussing with people influencer. “Yes, today take a little time to exercise with the legends,” said Gibran to journalists at GBK Arena Jakarta, Monday (4/12/2023).

The eldest son of President Joko Widodo or Jokowi plays badminton as a partner with badminton legend Taufik Hidayat. Gibran-Taufik also managed to win after playing for more than 30 minutes.

Gibran said that he actually couldn’t play badminton. Because the Mayor of Solo usually plays futsal and football.

He said that there must be special attention from the Minister of Youth and Sports regarding badminton in Indonesia. Gibran wants Indonesia’s badminton achievements to improve in the future.

“Yes, we need special emphasis, special attention, especially from the Minister of Youth and Sports, so that our achievements continue to increase, so that we can produce new seeds, young people who we must continue to encourage to later give birth to established generations,” said Gibran.
