CeeDee Lamb was born in Opelousas, a small town in Lousina, but grew up in New Orleans during her early years., in the same state. When he was barely 6 years old, Hurricane Katrina forced him to leave the city of New Orleans, so his family moved to the outskirts of Houston, Texas.something that would end up being very beneficial for his sports career.

Already in his first year in high school he stood out as a wide receiver and surpassed 1,000 yards. with 11 touchdowns in his debut season. In his second year he significantly improved his production with more than 2,000 yards and 33 touchdowns.. That year he became the fourth receiver with the most yards in state history at that level.

The hardships through the storms motivated Lamb to excel on the football field, and he began to shine at Foster High School in Richmond, eventually becoming a four-star recruitpicking out Oklahoma about Texas and Alabama, among others.

CeeDee was the best player I have ever metsaid Shaun McDowell, his high school coach. “The things he could do with his body, like contort it. We used to say that he plays in the Matrix, because he can see things before they happen and do things that bend his body to catch them. You just had to throw the ball in his direction and that’s it,” he added.

He played football there and during his senior year in 2016, he had 98 receptions for 2,032 yards.. This was the fourth best in the state. Lamb helped lead the team to a 14-1 season with his only loss coming in the state semifinal game. Lamb received the Houston Touchdown Club All-State Offensive Player of the Year award.

On the jump to College Football

For a high school student this was big, he received many offers from universities like Alabama and other well known programs. However, Lamb committed to the University of Oklahoma, where he would catch passes from quarterbacks Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray and Jalen Hurts.. It’s very rare (in fact, quite impossible) that you play with three different QBs who have won Heisman Trophies.

During his stay, Lamb managed to record impressive statistics in those three years. He had a total of 3,292 yards with 178 receptions. With 32 receiving touchdowns, he looked like a lock-in first-round pick. He ran the ball 40 times for 316 yards. He also scored a touchdown on the ground.

Another crazy statistic is the fact that Lamb played in two College Football Playoff games, one each in 2018 and 2019. After those numbers, Ceedee decided he had done enough and went to the draft. The recipient didn’t have to wait long, because after hearing only 16 names, his time came.

Finally, the NFL came knocking on the door

The Dallas Cowboys selected him with the 17th pick in the draft.. Immediately, he was ready to get to work. In the 2020 NFL season, Lamb had 935 yards and five touchdowns. He was a fast player with great skills and hands. Many fans had hope for him because they believed he could be one of the best in the league. And he did not disappoint.

In the 2021 season, Lamb performed even better, this time with 1,102 yards and six touchdowns. With more catches and key plays, Lamb proved once again that he belongs where he is today. Dallas’ ’88’ is the team leader in all statistical areas that pertain to a wide receiver. Ceedee’s ability is undeniable, but even he is aware that much of his success is due to the work of head coach Mike McCarthy, who has taken on the responsibility of calling plays on offense.

Lamb was on pace to break the team’s all-time record for most receptions in a single season (111) before passing went cold. This means he will now have the opportunity to do so in Week 17at home and on the same night that legendary head coach Jimmy Johnson will be inducted into the coveted Ring of Honor.
