Federica Brignone turns the page after the memorable double in giant slalom in Mont Tremblant and is preparing to face the Speed Opening of the season for the 2023-2024 Women’s Alpine Skiing World Cup. The Aosta Valley athlete is ready to compete in two Super-Gs (Friday and Sunday) and a downhill race (Saturday) in St. Moritz, weather permitting.
“There hasn’t been time to celebrate, today is actually the day I feel the most tired. The journey back from Canada was very tough, I spent a few hours at home and got back in the car, I hope to turn around on Friday“, declares the 33-year-old native of Milan to the federal website after finishing the second timed downhill test in thirteenth position.
“It’s a positive period, the double in Mont Tremblant is among the best memories of my career. Both for the results and for the experiences I have lived I feel lucky and proud, which is why I ski freer than last year“, continues the reigning giant slalom vice-champion, retracing the double victory of the last weekend in Canada.
Alpine skiing, Sofia Goggia: “In the second test I felt better. Let’s hope for good weather…”
