How does that happen? The Sunday Bundesliga games are usually shown on the DAZN streaming service. However, Sat.1 has also acquired rights from the DFL. This package includes nine games per season: DFL Supercup, first and second leg of the relegation of the 1st and 2nd leagues, opening game of the first half of the season, the last of the year and the first of the new year as well as the start of the second division. However, this only applies to regular weekend game days.
But: In 2023, the Bundesliga year ends with an English week (16th matchday on December 19th/20th). That’s why Sat.1 joins in on the 15th matchday and shows Bayern against Stuttgart on free TV.
