Livorno basketball in mourning for the passing of Ezio Cardaioli, historic coach of Libertas Livorno, who brought the Livorno team, after more than a decade, to the Olympus of basketball.
Cardaioli passed away today at the age of 88 and, in his career, he coached between Tuscany, Lazio and Emilia-Romagna. In Livorno he entered the hearts of the Libertassi fans immediately in the first year of his stay under the 4 Mori with the promotion from Serie A2 to Serie A1.
In his first year in the top Italian championship he achieved a historic fifth place and a historic first participation in the Korac Cup.
