Dallas Mavericks Make NBA History with 30-Point Streak, Yet Still Lose to Oklahoma City Thunder

The Dallas Mavericks have set a historic record in the NBA! The strange thing: The Texans around superstar Luka Doncic still lost against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Mavs scored 30 points in a row in the fourth quarter. After initially trailing 87:111, Dallas turned the game around to 117:111. Nevertheless, the 2011 champions were unable to keep the lead over time and ultimately lost 120:126 to the Thunder.

This streak of 30 points in a row is the longest run without allowing an opponent’s point since play-by-play recording began in the NBA in the 1996-1997 season.

The record was previously held by the Cleveland Cavaliers, who went on a 29-0 run against the Milwaukee Bucks almost exactly 14 years ago.

Doncic, who missed the previous game against the Memphis Grizzlies due to the birth of his daughter, was, as usual, the best player on the floor with 36 points, 15 rebounds and 18 assists. Still, it wasn’t enough for victory.

After the game, Thunder coach Mark Daigneautl said about the strange victory: “Of course it’s kind of a strange way to win.” Nevertheless, he emphasized “how mentally strong this team is.”
