The children’s winter league of baseball teams started with a tournament in Saarlouis. The young Devils of TV St. Ingbert came third and are hosting their home tournament on February 4th.
Teams from 8 cities in the greater region traveled to Saarlouis for the start of the children’s winter league. There are also teams from Lunéville in France and from Beckerich (Luxembourg).

The St. Ingbert Devils were not yet awake in the first game against the Kaiserslautern Bears and lost 10:13. The second game against the favored Saarlouis Hornets was also lost. But in the third game against the “Speyer Turtles/Trier Cardinals” syndicate, the children’s team from St. Ingbert really came into their own and won clearly. The one win was enough for second place in the preliminary group.
As a result, the Devils qualified for the game for third place, which became a nail-biter against the Beckerich Hedgehogs from Luxembourg. Numerous great plays on both sides created excitement and the Devils were able to narrowly win the game in the end thanks to their great hitting performance. In the final, Mainz Athletics left the field as tournament winners against the Saarlouis Hornets.

There will be further tournaments in Beckerich and Speyer and on February 4th the Devils will also hold their tournament in St. Ingbert in the TV St. Ingbert club gymnasium.
The Devils children’s team is still looking for new players. Interested girls and boys aged 7 to 14 can try out baseball during training. The training times can be found on the Devils website www.devils-igb.de.
