Cantù Aiming to Secure Second Place in A2 League with Match Against Treviglio

Tomorrow the A2 is already back on the field, with Cantù facing Treviglio away at 8.30pm, with the solitary second place regained after the victory against Juvi Cremona and the simultaneous defeat of the Bergamo players against Urania Milano. It will be the third midweek round of a fast-paced first phase that will end on February 4, before the clock phase.

Cagnardi’s team has the possibility tomorrow, in the event of a victory, to extend and bring the difference in goals in their favor in the direct match, which sees a minimum advantage of Treviglio (+1) achieved with the victory in October. Cagnardi hopes to count at least on Moraschini, who resumed training yesterday after last week’s flu.

Cantù, by beating Juvi Cremona, has therefore distanced itself from its pursuers (with Treviglio, at 16, there is also Turin), but remains -4 behind Trapani, a team that does not seem to know any rivals. The only one who managed to beat the Sicilians in the first round was Cantù. Tomorrow the league leaders will play in Casale Monferrato, while the direct clash Cantù-Trapani will take place on Saturday 23rd at 8.30pm. And Cantù obviously hopes to be able to get there in the best possible conditions.

The second place regained by S.Bernardo is precious and must be preserved, as well as consolidated. In addition to launching Cantù in the chase to Trapani, second place at the end of the first phase will ensure participation in the Final Four in March, which will be played with the formula of semi-final cross-matches between the top two classified in the two groups: the two winners will compete will compete for the Cup.
