1. FC Cologne – SC Freiburg 0:2 (0:0)

1. FC Köln has suffered another setback in the Bundesliga relegation battle. Coach Steffen Baumgart’s team lost 0-2 (0-0) at SC Freiburg and is still waiting for its third win of the season. Freiburg, on the other hand, moved up one place from seventh place into the first third of the table.

Michael Gregoritsch (72nd minute) and Roland Sallai (90th + 5) scored the goals for the Breisgauer team in front of 34,700 spectators. It was the third win in a row for SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga. Cologne’s Jeff Chabot received a yellow-red card for repeated foul play (62′). The Rhinelanders are now still in 16th place in the table with ten points. On Wednesday, Cologne will face Union Berlin, while Freiburg will play against 1. FC Heidenheim on the same day.

In the Europa Park Stadium, the Ultra fans were silent for the first twelve minutes in protest against investors’ entry into the German Football League. When golden chocolate coins fell from the SC supporters’ block onto the lawn, referee Harm Osmers interrupted the game for five minutes.
