Hannah Klugman has a bright future ahead of her.
The Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships have always been a true paradise for global tennis scouts. The Grand Slam champions of tomorrow will present themselves there in different age groups. Former major champions such as Jim Courier, Andy Roddick, Roger Federer and Dominic Thiem were immortalized in the list of winners in the U18 “premier class”. Caroline Wozniacki, Sofia Kenin, Bianca Andreescu and Coco Gauff were also able to lift the winner’s trophy during their junior years in Florida.

Just looking at the age of the two finalists at this year’s edition of the J500-categorized ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors tournament gives an idea of great things to come. The fact that both players come from the support program of two Grand Slam nations is also not surprising. With 6:3, 6:3, Great Britain’s Hannah Klugman retained the upper hand against 15-year-old Tyra Caterina Grant from the United States. For the 14-year-old, who had already competed in the women’s qualifying for Wimbledon this year, the success in Plantation was the third success of the season among the juniors.
In the juniors, two unseeded players played their way to the final. There, 18-year-old Danil Panarin, who has been without a tournament win since winning three titles in lower categories on home soil since 2021, defeated Luca Preda of Romania 6:4, 6:1. The 17-year-old Preda, who won the title at the ITF German Juniors in Bamberg this year, is still eligible to play in the juniors next year and will have an important say in the junior Grand Slams, while the champion Panarin will try his luck on the men’s circuit.
