The Medical Instinct Veilchen BG 74 Göttingen lost their second leg in the women’s basketball Bundesliga on matchday 12 at the Gisa Lions MBC with 67:75 (34:35).

Halle/Saale – You’re still waiting for your fifth win of the season, but you’re still in tenth place, the last non-relegation spot. It’s annoying for BG 74 coach Ruzica Dzankic’s team that the Lions won the direct comparison.

This game was explosive because two points for the Central German BC were not counted in the first leg, but in the end the Violets won 71:66. The MBC protested against the scoring of this game and wanted a replay, but the objection was rejected by the DBBL.

Although the guests took a 2-0 lead through Chelsea Waters, an 11-0 run by the hosts made it 11:23 after five minutes before Paula Klescova broke this dry spell for the violets to make it 3:11. In the period that followed, however, the BG 74 was in the game and was gradually able to make it even, as the defense, which often played in favor of the Göttingen team, was now more focused on the MBC offensive.

Waters managed the first equalizer to make it 13:13 after eight minutes. The second quarter went into the second quarter at 15:15, in which the MBC started better, led 20:15 and was still leading at 32:28, before no team managed another basket success for more than two minutes before Jennifer Crowder led her team With a successful three-pointer, the score was 31:32 to within one point. From that point on it remained very close, and at half-time nothing had been decided for the hosts at 35:34. After 25 minutes, Alison Lewis, once again the game’s top scorer with 21 points, managed to put the violets back in the lead with a three-point throw to make it 46:43 after starting 2-0, and Lewis made it 49 with another three :43 could expand. Klescova even increased the score to 51:43 after 28 minutes – it was BG 74’s highest lead.

With a 9-0 run to 52:51, the MBC regained the lead, but it didn’t last long, the BG 74 had turned the game around again (64:60), but too many technical errors crept in afterwards the guests – the free throws didn’t want to fall either – which the Lions took advantage of in crunch time and secured victory with a 15:3 run.
