The basketball players from Bayern Munich are celebrating a prestigious success in the Bundesliga. The top favorite pulls away against the German champions Ulm in the last quarter. Alba Berlin also achieved a victory after a strong final spurt.
Thanks to an increase in performance after the break, FC Bayern Basketball won the Bundesliga top game against ratiopharm Ulm. Bayern beat the German champions 95:80 (43:45) on Sunday at their home BMW Park, inflicting their third defeat of the season on Ulm.
After an even first half, Bayern pulled away decisively in the final quarter. The Ulm team was unlucky that a three-pointer by Juan Nunez towards the end of the third quarter, which supposedly made it 66:66, was subsequently canceled by the referees because the time had already expired. The best thrower for Bayern, where Vladimir Lucic celebrated his comeback after a long injury break, was Leandro Bolmaro with 19 points.
Alba wins after a 20:2 run
Alba Berlin achieved a hard-fought success. The capital city team won the EWE Baskets Oldenburg with 90:85 (40:47). Against a weakened Oldenburg team, Alba turned the game around in the final period, which went to Berlin with a score of 24:11. The capital club had been behind for almost the entire season. The best Berlin throwers were world champion Johannes Thiemann with 24 and Matt Thomas with 20 points.
After a balanced start, Alba was able to take the lead with 10:7. It was to be the guests’ last tour for a long time. Because then Oldenburg took over the scepter. The Berliners had problems on defense and especially under the basket. In addition, the throwing rate remained weak.

But then suddenly nothing worked for the Oldenburgers, who were becoming more and more tired. And the guests were able to take advantage of that. With a 20:2 run in the final phase, Alba still took the win.
