Badminton Club Le Châtelet Holds General Meeting with Awards and Achievements

With sixty licensees, including ten classified, the Badminton club Le Châtelet held its ordinary general meeting last week in the presence of around thirty people, including Jessica Batut, development agent at the Cher committee, Bernadette Perrot- Dubreuil, mayor, and Patrice Barret, president of the intercommunal school union, manager of the gymnasium where the badists play on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday evenings.

If the club was once again labeled a French badminton school by the French Federation, only one star was awarded for lack of coach, but this absence should be filled soon.

President of the club, Benoît Cassonnet, also a level 2 volunteer facilitator, will continue to train the young people on Friday evenings, soon joined by two graduates in training. The players have already memorized a youth field at Châtelet, on January 27, a pool meeting, on May 8, and the registration of one or two teams in the D3 championship.

Thanks to subsidies (1,200 euros from the commune of Châtelet, 1,000 euros from the National Sports Agency, and 270 euros from the Cher committee), the club purchased flocked jerseys, shuttlecocks and a racket stringing machine.

The club’s Facebook site has 649 members and allows the dissemination of club information, the committee and the results of licensees in competition.
