Unai Emery’s men beat Erling Haaland’s teammates this Wednesday evening (1-0).

Aston Villa continues its flawless performance at home by beating Manchester City 1-0 on Wednesday in Birmingham, a prestigious victory which allows the “Villans” to steal third place from the triple title holder, in difficulty after fifteen days.

Unai Emery’s team created a sensation thanks to a goal from Jamaican winger Leon Bailey (74th) and is now two points ahead of the “Citizens”, fourth.

The Mancunians are slowing down in the league with this defeat, the third this season, which follows three draws, certainly against big teams in the championship (Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham).

Conversely, Aston Villa (3rd, 32 pts) stretched its number of consecutive home victories in the league to fourteen, three days before welcoming leader Arsenal (36 pts). Liverpool is sandwiched between the two teams, in second place (34 pts), after dominating bottom-placed Sheffield United 2-0 on Wednesday.
