I Carabinieri of the Rome Tor Sapienza station arrested a crime suspect, on initiative, a 29 year old Nigerian citizen seriously suspected of crime of sexual violenceaggravated by the use of weapons, against a 30-year-old woman.
On the morning of November 27, the woman asked for help on 112 through a security guard. A Carabinieri patrol from the Rome Tor Sapienza station arrived at the abandoned industrial complex located in via R. Costi, where the woman was found lying on the ground, in pain and in a state of confusion. The victim reported having entered the complex in order to purchase narcotics from a black person, who, after giving her some cocaine, took her to a secluded place and, under the threat of a knife to her throat, forced her to have sexual intercourse, and then walking away. A 118 ambulance intervened on site and transported the woman to the emergency room of the “Policlinico Casilino” hospital where the appropriate health protocols were initiated and the actual violence was ascertained. After immediate searches in the abandoned structure, the Carabinieri of the Rome Tor Sapienza station tracked down the man who was also recognized by the woman and placed him under arrest as a crime suspect, taking him to the Regina Coeli prison. The Court of Rome validated the arrest and ordered the man to be placed in precautionary custody in prison.
It should be noted that the proceeding is in the preliminary investigation phase and therefore the suspect must be considered innocent until a final sentence is reached.
