Announced several times (it was supposed to start with Juventus-Napoli) and postponed, the platform is now one step away from the start, with theCommunications Guarantee Authority who defined the technical requirements and operational for operation.
It is now up to the operators who provide access (Isp) who must block pirate sites, upon notification from the rights holders – explains Agcom – implement the activities necessary to make the platform operational. But how does Piracy Shield work? It is based on a system machine to machine: the broadcasters who purchased the television rights they can ‘upload’ infringement reports, attaching the evidence, to the platform which automatically directs them to Isp accredited who ensure the blocking of the address from which the illegal signal within the following ones 30 minutes.
