In an interview, ski jumper Andreas Wellinger talks about the fascination of flying, the surprising rise of his teammate Pius Paschke and the future of his sport.

Andreas Wellinger is 28 years old. He was also active in Nordic combined until 2011 before switching to ski jumping. The Traunstein native competed in his first World Cup in this discipline at the age of 17. At the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014, Wellinger won gold with the team and four years later brought three medals with him from Pyeongchang, where he became individual Olympic champion on the normal hill and also took second place on the large hill and with the team.
