Amen Thompson, the Houston Rockets’ fourth overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft, could return to the field on Monday night against the Spurs and after more than a month’s absence.

Thompson had gotten himself one sprained right ankle on November 1st last and has played so far alone 4 games in season. The guard completed the recovery with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G-League and now he can return to coach Ime Udoka’s disposal. In his 4 appearances Amen Thompson traveled to 6.3 points average with 2.8 rebounds in 16.8 minutes.

Coach Udoka said the goal is immediately give his minutes and space back to Amen Thompson upon his return, even if it will not be easy to find them. “Other players are doing well so we will have to find space and opportunities for everyone, we will adjust the rotations with him“.

Among those who have behaved well in Thompson’s absence is Aaron Holidaywhich is pulling with the 45.8% from three in over 18 minutes per game. Udoka stated that he will try to make the two coexist in the second unit dietro to Jalen Green and Fred VanVleet.
