Marco Schwarz gave himself the perfect Christmas present on Friday. The Carinthian, fifth in the first run, won the night slalom in Madonna di Campiglio after a furious finale and relegated the Frenchman Noel Clement (+0.25 seconds) and the British David Ryding (+0.39) to second place three. Schwarz took over the lead in the overall World Cup from the Swiss Marco Odermatt.
