These are dramatic scenes that take place in front of cameras on Australian television. Former tennis player Alicia Molik is conducting an interview about her appointment as tournament director of the Adelaide tournament when a bang is heard behind her. A ball girl collapsed directly behind Molik, who reacted immediately, stopping the interview and putting the girl in the recovery position. A heroic act because: Thanks to Molik’s efforts, the ball girl was able to recover, but was still taken to the hospital for further examinations. The 42-year-old, two-time Grand Slam doubles champion is now being celebrated in her home country of Australia. And rightly so!
