Zverev Injured Again: Comparison to Previous Injury and Reassurance about Current Condition

When Zverev fell against Alcaraz on Monday in Turin, all observers logically thought of his terrible injury against Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals of Roland-Garros, which had kept him away from the circuit for more than six months.

But at a press conference after his victory against the world number 2, throwing him perfectly into his group at the Masters, the German wanted to be reassuring.

“My ankle didn’t turn, I felt it straight away. I just slipped and pinched my Achilles heel. It hurt for a minute or two, like when you hit your elbow on a nerve. It wasn’t pleasant but I knew it would be okay. And, no, I didn’t think about what happened because I knew my ankle hadn’t turned, it was completely different. I just slipped”declared the 8th in the world who will play again on Wednesday against Daniil Medvedev.
