Zbrojovka Brno’s plans for the future under Coach Tomáš Polách

It’s clear. Zbrojovka Brno will continue to be coached by Tomáš Polách in the second league, but during the winter break, changes in the player squad can be expected. The well-known club hibernates in the sixth place in the table, losing one point to the third place in the play-off. After the last autumn duel, gunner Jakub Řezníček did not hide his disillusionment with the team’s performance and showed great dissatisfaction when he did not spare peppery expressions. The management of the club has now made it clear in which direction the club will go further.

The club announced on the website that the 46-year-old Polách was confirmed by the board of directors after the end of the autumn term and agreed with him on a two-year contract with an option. He took over the Zbrojovka team three weeks ago, when coach Luděk Klusáček, who was Polách’s assistant, was dismissed due to poor results after the fourth defeat in a row. From the remaining three games of the autumn, Brno gained six points and slightly improved their position in the fight to return to the top league, from which they were relegated in May this year.

Behind the leader Vyškov in the position of direct advancer, the biggest pre-season favorite lags behind by nine points. “The board made this step (Polách’s stay) conditional on other follow-up steps concerning the implementation team and the player squad, where changes should take place,” says Zdeněk Psotka, vice-chairman of the board and head of the sports department, on the club’s website.

The collapse of Zbrojovka infuriated gunner Řezniček: Terrible performance, tragic

“As a sports manager, I was entrusted with the implementation of these steps, so individual interviews will take place in the following days. After they are over, we will gradually inform about these steps as soon as they are formally approved,” added Psotka.
