The Briton came to the Greek’s rescue after a statement from Lacoste CEO Thierry Guibert.

After Stefanos Tsitsipas withdrew due to injury, Novak Djokovic’s chances of qualifying for the semi-finals of the Turin Masters were compromised. However, Jannik Sinner, who is part of the same green group, gave the Serbian a big boost by beating Holger Rune. Lacoste CEO Thierry Guibert congratulated the Italian, while showing his allegiance to Djokovic, the brand’s muse. Thierry Guibert also did not hold back from criticizing the Greek for his premature withdrawal which disrupted the progress of the group and put the Serb under pressure. “An unfair withdrawal”, according to Guibert.

This dig at Tsitsipas did not please Andy Murray who tweeted: “Weird post from a CEO of a sports brand. Getting injured is part of sport and is not unfair behavior“. It must be said that the Scotsman, who has had to deal with injuries for several years and a battered body, knows what he is talking about when it comes to injuries…
