The comeback of striker Serhou Guirassy at VfB Stuttgart is apparently getting closer. The striker trained with the Bundesliga team for the first time on Wednesday after suffering a muscle injury in his thigh. A VfB spokesman confirmed that the 27-year-old took part in at least parts of the training session. It is still unclear whether Guirassy will be able to return to the VfB squad on Saturday in the home game against Borussia Dortmund (3:30 p.m.) as coach Sebastian Hoeneß wants.
Guirassy sustained the injury almost three weeks ago in the 3-0 win against 1. FC Union Berlin after scoring his 14th goal of the season. Hoeneß can count on playmaker Enzo Millot again for the third-placed team’s top game against runner-up Dortmund. Millot was absent from Sunday’s 2-0 defeat in Heidenheim for personal reasons. Right-back Pascal Stenzel trained partly with the team again after thigh problems like Guirassy. The symptoms forced him to take a break at the weekend.
