Trois Frontières Tournament Draws Archers from Throughout Grand Est and Beyond

They came from all over the Grand Est, but also from Germany and Switzerland: 160 archers took part in the Trois Frontières tournament, this Sunday at the Alsace Regional Sports Center in Mulhouse.

Individually in the morning, all adults could shoot 60 arrows, with the best 16 qualifying for the final stages. In the Seniors 2, category of shooters aged 40 to 60, Laurent Erhart, from the organizing club (the Compagnie des Archers du Bollwerk), finished 2nd in the qualifications. Then he prevailed against opposition after opposition to face the best of the qualifiers in the final: Stéphane Coutret, from Saint-Dié.

On arrival, the Mulhouseian won, “but without comfort”, he confessed. “I’m done, it’s a forceps victory against a high quality shooter. Now I will train three times a week to prepare for the Grand Est championships which will take place here in February. »

Marion Raymond, beaten but happy

In archery, an arrow shot at 18 meters in the blue offers 6 points, and 7 or 8 points in the red. The Grail, the color yellow, rewards the shooter with 9 or 10 points. Marion Raymond from Mulhouse passed her qualifications. Thirteen years after trying this discipline during an event organized by the Téléthon, in her native Île-de-France, the 25-year-old teacher was moved to do better than expected and win in the semi-final. However, she could do nothing in the last match against Bernese Franciska Langhammer (7-1).

“I hit the yellow a lot, but my opponent was even more precise. At one point, we each scored 28 out of 30, that’s what gave me the point, saving me from losing 6-0,” she explains. The member of CAB Mulhouse will now prepare a round of the world archery championship. It will be held in January, in Nîmes.
