Thunder loses to Warriors in thrilling NBA Cup opener with last-second layup

“Thunder” lost to Golden State “Warriors” basketball players at home with the result 139:141 (33:38, 34:31, 39:37, 33:35).

Lugenz Dorts was the most productive in the ranks of “Thunder” with 29 points, Chet Holmgren added 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists, while four other basketball players scored between 13 and 18 points.

Stephen Curry scored 30 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in the “Warriors” team. Dario Saric collected 20 points and six rebounds, four other basketball players scored from 15 to 19 points, and Chris Paul added 13 assists to one point.

Curry scored the game-winning layup in the last second of the game. At first, it was disallowed because Draymond Green hit the hoop while trying to put the ball in the basket, but later the referees changed their decision, including the basket.

Green later explained that the basket counted because he touched the hoop without touching the ball.

“Thunder” ranks 11th in the Western Conference with three wins in six games, while “Warriors” are the conference leader with five wins in six matches.

The games played on Friday were the first in this season’s NBA Cup.

The next game “Thunder” will play on Monday at home against the Atlanta “Hawks”, and the next game of the NBA Cup – on the road against the Sacramento “Kings” on Friday.
