The judge of the ‘Rubiales case’ offers the press officer of the women’s team the option of denouncing coercion

The judge of the National Court investigating Luis Rubiales, former president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), for the kiss he gave soccer player Jenni Hermoso on the mouth, offered this Thursday to the press chief of the women’s soccer team, Patricia Pérez, to denounce the alleged coercion that she said she had suffered in her testimony.

The titular magistrate of the Central Court of Instruction number 1, Francisco de Jorgetakes this new step of offering shares a few days before Jenni Hermoso’s own statement is made, as legal sources have confirmed to Europa Press.

In his appearance as a witness, Pérez pointed out pressure during an integrity meeting that was held at the RFEF headquarters, upon returning from the World Cup, and in which the controversy raised by that kiss was discussed. Both Rubiales and his father attended and, according to Pérez, Luis de la Fuente, men’s coach, also attended.

De la Fuente clarified in his statement that, although he was at the RFEF headquarters that day, in reality he was preparing other matters in an office next to the president’s, and that to gain access he had to go through that meeting in which he had no alternative. There was Perez. So, He denied having participated in it.

The alleged coercion of Pérez in that meeting found support, beyond his statement, in what was stated by the person in charge of ‘compliance’ of the selection, Javier Puyol. He explained before the judge that the press officer was pressured in the integrity meeting that was held at the RFEF after the World Cup controversy.

It should be remembered that, voluntarily, Pérez provided the magistrate with information and data contained in his mobile phone at the end of his appearance. Now, and with the offer of actions by the judge, he must go again to indicate if he finally wants to file a complaint.
