«I had the opportunity to join Blackburn Rovers but I wanted to see what the facilities were like. I met Sam Allardyce for the first time in Poland after a match. He was ready to recruit me and wanted to come to Poland to see merewinds the 35-year-old attacker. I thought it would have been nice to sign there but I couldn’t go because of the cloud caused by the Icelandic volcano (to Eyjafjallajökull). A week passed and no one could fly to Europe. The flight was booked, but we couldn’t leave. This fact changed my life. »
