At the time, Carlos Antonio Vélez assured that the ‘Tricolor’ had beaten the worst Brazil in history, so even colleagues responded to him. One of them was Victor Romero, from ESPN, who mentioned that “we should not lower the price” of victory.

Well, this Wednesday, November 22, after the sixth round of the Qualifiers was played, Vélez returned to the topic and reaffirmed his opinion due to the defeat that Brazil suffered against Argentina at the Maracaná.

“How delicious it is to be right, right? when the facts prove one right. There is nothing to do about that… they can bark, scream, cry, kick. The worst Brazil in history and in recent times, without a doubt: 3 games in a row lost, never in history has such a thing always happened,” said the Manizale journalist in his program ‘Palabras Mayors’, on Antena 2.

Here, the moment in which he referred to the topic:

After mentioning the undefeated home team that Argentina took from Brazil and the fight between Rodrygo and Lionel Messi, the communicator reiterated that the ‘Canarinha’ is going through a moment never seen before.

“In the last 12 games they only won four and in the 6 Playoff dates they only beat the last two in the table. There is reason in the statement: the worst Brazil in recent times and it has been proven,” he added in the radial space.

Finally, he referred to the victory of the Colombian National Team against Paraguay and emphasized that the ‘Tricolor’ played a very different game than the one they showed against Brazil.

“This is not flattery, or lambonyery, or unjustified or demonstrable judgments. Everything that is said is supported for better or worse. Colombia did not play well against Brazil, it won, which is different, and those who play well do not always win,” he concluded.

On his X account (formerly Twitter), Vélez also shared a series of statistics with which he wanted to give strength to his assessments.
