The Capital Hosts Top U-15 and U-19 Badminton Masters with City Council Support

The capital will host the Top U-15 and U-19 Badminton Masters this weekend, which has the support of the City Council

On November 4 and 5, the capital of Huelva will host the Top Master Sub-15 and Sub-19 badminton, a top-level sporting event organized by the Andalusian Badminton Federationwith the support of Huelva City Counciland which has the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Government of Andalusia and the Provincial Council of Huelva.

In this regard, the Councilor for Youth and Sports, María de la O Rubio, wanted to highlight that “This event is going to turn the city into an authentic Sports Capital this weekend, since it will bring together a total of 29 clubs from all over Spain and the great badminton promises will be playing 150 games, so we hope that “Citizens fill the stands of Carolina Marín.”

For his part, the provincial deputy for Sports, Juan Daniel Romero, has highlighted the importance of “an event that promotes grassroots sport and that allows Huelva to continue maintaining that level of badminton that has made us benchmarks, so we want to be a pillar for the Federation, so that these great events can continue to come.”

In this sense, as the president of the Andalusian Badminton Federation, Juan Carlos Longo, has pointed out, “This TOP Master is No. 2, so it is only surpassed by the Spanish Championships, which are No. 1, and it will allow us to see in action 75 players who are first rackets, great young promises.”

Of the participating teams, it should be noted that 13 are Andalusian from Almería, Arjonilla, Baena, Benalmádena, Granada, Jorge Guillén, La Encina, La Unión, Montilla, Málaga Evolution, Volante Ruteand, as it could not be otherwise, there will also be representation from Huelva, thanks to the participation of IES La Orden.

On the other hand, being a national event, Huelva will have representatives from all corners of the Spanish territory. In this way there will be players from the autonomous communities of Galicia, specifically from the teams As Neves, Athlos, A Estrada and San Amaro, from the Valencian community, with Aspe and El Campello, from Castilla y León, with Burgos and Valonsadero, from Madrid, with Gredos San Diego, Jarama Hawks, Hoyo de Manzanares and Leganés, from Navarra, with Belmecher, from Catalonia, with Inef Lleida, from the Balearic Islands, with Cide, and from the Canary Islands, with Tenzul El Rosario.

Regarding gender, in this Top Master there will be 33 girls and 42 boyss and in the distribution between the two categories there will be 32 athletes in the Under-19 category and 43 in the Under-15 category.

On the other hand, the Andalusian Federation also wanted to highlight that several Andalusian players arrive at this event with the sign of favorites to get on the podium. It is the case of David Carvajal, Asier Torres, Adrián Lazo, Sara Arenas or María del Pilar Carmona in the Under-15 category; and Álvaro Morán, Mario Rodríguez, Guillermo Nuviala, Rubén Carreras or Cristina Teruel in the Under-19 category. At the same time, it is worth highlighting the participation of several local athletes who are emerging at the moment, such as the DM duo formed by Miguel Aguilar and Miguel Carrasco.

Regarding the development of this Top Master U-15 and U-19, it should be noted that the distribution of the day will be normal in this type of n2 tournaments. On Saturday the event will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Carolina Marín Sports Palace, with all the previous phases and the round of 16 and quarterfinals being played throughout this first day, while on Sunday, with the dispute of the semi-finals and finals, the winners of the competition will be known around 1:00 p.m., at which time the TOP Master will end with the traditional medal ceremony.
