UGGIANO LA CHIESA – Another prestigious podium for the athlete from Salento, Gianluca Burlizzi, originally from Casamassella, a hamlet of Uggiano la Chiesa, a policeman serving in Bologna for years, who this time won the bronze medal in the European kickboxing championship which it took place last week in Trieste.

The policeman-athlete of the Bologna mobile unit, who traditionally fights with the Fighters Team shirt, took part in the European kickboxing championship on Saturday and Sunday 28 and 29 October in the Palachiarbola of Trieste, where he participated as called up by the Iaksa-Fight Net national team, with the masters Paolo Gherardi and Enrico Perego in the corner.

At the end of the international competition Burlizzi won the category kickboxing bronze medal, only losing narrowly in the semi-final against the multiple Austrian champion. A well-deserved third place which adds to the victory in May in San Marino in the Iaksa-Fight Net kickboxing world championship, with 500 participants from all over the world and after having won the Italian title in light boxing, kickboxing and K1 light during the stage championship.

From the collaboration between the president of Iaska World, Paolo Gherardi, with Manuela Caironi, president of Fight Net, and with the president of the World Wkf, Fritz Exemberg, for the first time in the amateur world it was possible to witness a spectacular international opportunity in Italy with more than 20 nations participating in the recent European championship in Trieste.
