Texas Football Holds Steady at No. 7 in College Football Rankings

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Football held steady at No. 7 in 2023 College Football Playoff rankings announced on Tuesday night. The Longhorns also sit at No. 7 in both the Associated Press and US LBM Coaches Poll. UT has been ranked seventh in each of the first CFP rankings.

The Longhorns (9-1, 6-1) won on the road at TCU on Saturday, 29-26. It marked the second-straight win in Fort Worth, the first time UT has won back-to-back road games against the Horned Frogs since 1988 and 1990.

Texas’ 9-1 start is the best for the program since 2009, while the 6-1 mark in Big 12 Conference play is matches the best start for the team since 2013.

UT hits the road again this week, traveling to Ames, Iowa to play Iowa State (6-4, 5-2) at Jack Trice Stadium. The game will kick off at 7 p.m. and will broadcast live on FOX.
