Tennis dominator Djokovic is still not fed up even after a record victory

Novak Djokovic dominated the tennis year 2023 at will. The coronation follows in Turin. But he’s not done with the season yet.
After the next milestone in his impressive career, Novak Djokovic could actually say goodbye to a well-deserved vacation. But although the world number one has won three Grand Slam tournaments this year and also secured a record victory at the ATP finals in Turin, he is not yet finished with the tennis season.
From Turin, Djokovic goes directly to Malaga, Spain, where the final round of the Davis Cup is taking place this week. “This is a very important week for us as a team, for Serbia as a sporting nation,” said the 36-year-old after his remarkable demonstration of power in the final of the ATP Finals against audience favorite Jannik Sinner.
Incredibly successful year
By winning the seventh title at the end of the season among the eight best players, Djokovic crowned an incredibly successful year with triumphs in Melbourne, Paris and New York. Only at Wimbledon did Djokovic have to admit defeat to the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in an epic five-set match in the final.
In Turin, Djokovic initially struggled to get going and lost to Sinner in the group phase. It was only thanks to the Italian’s help that he even reached the semi-finals. But from then on Djokovic was a different player. He appeared more focused, more concentrated and more dominant in the two second set wins against Alcaraz in the semi-finals and Sinner in the final. “When the real Novak Djokovic steps onto the court, no one can keep up with him at the moment,” said his coach Goran Ivanisevic.
