Judo: The Hilgenbaumhalle in Holzwickede was the venue for the screening tournament of the German Judo Association for female U17s. This event attracted numerous young judoka who competed against each other in a fair and demanding competition. With a number of participants of 121 and four competition areas, the tournament offered a large stage for up-and-coming young athletes in competitive sports and at the same time was evidence of the organizer’s well-thought-out organization.
The Judo Club Holzwickede mastered the challenge of managing such an event with flying colors. The quick handling of the fights and the structured execution of the tournament earned general recognition. The concept of the event enabled it to run smoothly and kept interest in the sporting events high.
Special attention was paid to Shila Naumann from the Judo Club Holzwickede. She competed in the -44 kg weight class and showed great commitment. With seventh place, she achieved a good result that underlines her personal development in sport and promises experience for future competitions.
At the same time, Arno Graff (-46 kg) competed for the Judo Club Holzwickede at the men’s U17 screening tournament in Herne. Despite a defeat in his first fight and a withdrawal from the tournament due to illness, his participation shows his willingness to compete at a high level. The Judo Club Holzwickede remains proud of the achievements and endurance of its representatives in both tournaments.
