It will be outstanding mainly thanks to Freiburg’s super talents: Merlin Röhl (21), Noah Weißhaupt (22) and Junior Adamu (22).
► 24th minute: The lead! Maximilian Eggestein crosses from the half field to Röhl. The young professional takes the ball straight out of the air with his right and scores his first professional goal for SC Freiburg.
Noticeable: Streich is extremely happy, sprints along the coaching line and clenches both fists. The coach thinks highly of the goalscorer. In the past he has repeatedly described him as a “smart and hard-working guy”.
The Röhl hit – the perfect example of the Freiburger Weg. The Breisgauers also rely on a balance of carefreeness and experience against the Serbs. Six of the eleven players in the starting eleven come from our own youth team or played in the second team.

A few minutes later it was the youngsters again: Weißhaupt with the 3-0 (69th), Adamu (80th) with the 4-0. Doan even increased the score to 5-0 (90+2) a few moments before the final whistle.

In the table, the defeat means that Backa Topola remains in last place (one point). Thanks to the win, Freiburg remains on course for the knockout phase with nine points from four games. With a point at the end of November against Olympiakos (November 30th), Freiburg can finally qualify for the round of 16 in the Europa League – the team already has a place in the playoffs of the Conference League.
