SC Cambuur and Roda JC drew 1-1 on Sunday in the Kitchen Champion Division. It meant the third loss of points in a row for Roda. Later in the day, MVV Maastricht-NAC Breda finished 1-4.

Cambuur got out of the starting blocks and led after four minutes. Milan Smit shot through the inside of the post. Just under ten minutes later, Roda received a present from referee Martijn Vos, who gave a penalty when little seemed to be happening. Walid Ould-Chikh remained calm from 11 meters: 1-1.

It seemed like a goal-rich encounter was in the making, but no more goals were scored. Roda increased the pressure as number two in the Kitchen Champion Division in the final phase, but Cambuur easily held on.

Due to the third draw in a row for Roda JC, leader Willem II, which won 1-3 at VVV-Venlo on Friday, is three points clear after fifteen games. Cambuur has been on the rise since the return of Henk de Jong. The Frisians are undefeated in the last six matches.

Later on Sunday, NAC achieved another victory after three winless matches. When visiting MVV it was 0-2 early thanks to Jan Van den Bergh and Dominik Janosek. Leroy Labylle hit back, but the visitors made it 1-4 thanks to goals from Aimé Omgba and Clint Leemans.

Thanks to the victory, the NAC of trainer Jean-Paul van Gastel can slowly look up as number nine in the Kitchen Champion Division. MVV is number fifteen.
