The women’s basketball team was the first to qualify for the final after beating La Pampa 73 to 41. While the men’s Río Negro team fell 64 to 72 against Chubut.
The volleyball girls also went to the final after beating Bío Bío 3 to 1. The men, on the other hand, fell to La Pampa 3 to 0 and will seek the bronze medal.
The women’s soccer representatives fell 3 to 0 to La Pampa in the semifinal and tomorrow they will play for the bronze medal with Los Ríos, while the men beat Los Ríos 6 to 2 and will play for fifth place.
For their part, individual sports did not want to be left behind in the party, with more medals for the Rio Negro delegation in women’s cycling, thanks to Valentina Orcito from Roque, who took silver in the 8km individual time trial and in athletics with the gold from Malena Robañera de Cipolletti in 200m and the bronze from Micaela Curaqueo de Ramos Mexía in the javelin throw.
In judo there were three medals: gold for Iara Figueroa from Cinco Saltos (70kg) and Victoria Linares from Viedma (78kg); bronze for Lautaro Bañares de Cinco Saltos 81kg).
Finally in swimming the men’s team took the 4×100 free relay; Cipolletti’s Valentino Pascuali Moreno won the silver medal in both the 200m butterfly and 200m freestyle; Another Cipoleño, Nazarena González Poblete, also took second place on the podium in the 50m backstroke, while Alejo Cabanillas from Bariloche achieved the same position in the men’s category of that event.
