Replacement for Bartošák? Lukáš catches excellently, but Hradec also looks elsewhere

In Sunday’s East Bohemian derby, Lukáš kept Hradec’s hopes alive for a long time, but the visitors ended up losing 2:5 in Pardubice. “I’m happy to be back at match pace. It’s important to me,” he explained.

But he probably wanted to fight for the number one position through sports. But Bartošák, who already has several excesses behind him, seems to be running into another problem. He didn’t show up for the Friday morning ice skating or the pre-game huddle. Rumors are spreading among the fans that the supporter from Hradec Kralove got behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol and became involved in a traffic accident. The club did not confirm this, but the goalkeeper was removed from the squad for the time being.

“We currently have no news to confirm the media speculation. On the other hand, Patrik violated the player’s contract and is excluded from the team,” said general manager Aleš Kmoníček in a discussion forum on the Hradec Králové website on Saturday. He also admitted that Mountfield is scouting the situation on the player market and is thus looking for a possible partner for Jan Lukáš.

Even head coach Tomáš Martinec did not reveal whether Bartošák will return to the team. “I can’t answer that,” he said only at the press conference after Sunday’s game. “Patrik is an excellent goalkeeper and of course we miss him. But Honza Lukáš catches very well and kept us in the game for a long time in the match,” praised the coach.

After his first assignment abroad, Lukáš is getting back to being comfortable. In SaiPa, which is struggling at the bottom of the Finnish league table, he did not record a single victory in eight starts and his save success rate was only 86 percent. “A lot of things just didn’t happen in Finland. I knew what I was getting into. I struggled a bit in the beginning, then everything snowballed. And it resulted in a move to Hradec,” explained the goalkeeper.

“I’ve turned the page and maybe I’ll write a new chapter in a slightly nicer font,” believes Lukáš. Anabazi got off to a good start at Mountfield. On Friday, he enjoyed a victory for the first time since March 9, when he picked up a 2:1 win over Kladno. And he couldn’t do anything with the conceded goals against Pardubice.

“The change of environment gave me a kick. I can start with a clean slate. I was already trampled and troubled. But it was a great life and hockey opportunity. Priceless,” he said, referring to his first experience abroad.
